These models are built on the same premises. The Vbeam is a pulsed dye laser system that utilizes a pulsed, flashlamp-excited dye medical laser that is controlled by two separate processors. One processor controls the Graphical User Interface (GUI) and the other processor controls the laser component. The Vbeam delivers laser energy pulses at a wavelength of 595 nanometers (nm). These controlled pulses are long enough in duration to target vessels without damaging surrounding skin. Blood vessels are heated by the laser energy and coagulate. They disappear from the dermis permanently which makes this a highly effective treatment for blood vessel related issuess. Equipment Details Easy to Use Interface: The user interface is an LCD panel with a touch screen overlay. It is very easy to use, the practioner simply selects the laser’s operating parameters which then initiates the system’s automatic calibration procedure and sets the DCD parameters. Dynamic Cooling Device (DCD): The Vbeam is equiped with a Dynamic Cooling Device (DCD). It is located inside of the main unit and features a controlled spray nozzle that is located at the treatment end of the handpiece. Cryogen is the main element that is responsible for generating the cooling component of the DCD. Handpiece Delivery Gauges: Each Vbeam model comes with its own “Delivery System and Distance Gauge Kit”. These kits includes 6 aluminum Smart Gages distance gauges called the Smart Gauges. The distance gauge assembly contains the internal focusing lens, input and output windows to protect the lens from dust and debris. The Smart Gauges come in 3, 5, 7, 10, 12 and 3×10 mm spot sizes. They are used to treat a wide variety of blood vessel issues. Pigmented Lesion Distance Gauge: The Vbeam comes with a handpiece gauge that is specifically designed to target and treat benign Pigmented Lesions. It is identical to the other handpiece smart gauges except that it comes with a lens attached to the ring. This lens is placed directly on the skin during the treatment process.
