Shorouk City is a new Egyptian city of the third generation, located in Cairo Governorate, and administratively affiliated to the New Urban Communities Authority, established by Presidential Decree No. 326 of 1995 of the Arab Republic of Egypt. [2] The city was established within the framework of the Egyptian state's efforts for urban expansion to achieve several development goals, the most important of which is to accommodate the increasing population numbers to relieve population pressure, and redistribute the population within the Greater Cairo area, while at the same time raising the standard of living for the residents of the area, by providing new job opportunities from industrial projects that will be established in the city. [3] The city is located in the eastern Cairo area and is bordered to the north by the Cairo-Ismailia Road, to the south by the Cairo-Suez Desert Road, to the east by Badr City and the Regional Ring Road, and to the west by the Ring Road, with a total area of 53 thousand acres.
